Silver the hedgehog by SonARTic Silver the hedgehog by SonARTic
Please excuse if there are two of these, someone has stated that >< DA is having a spaktard fit and isn't letting me view the first one I uploaded a moment ago O_o This is why we need the older version back! It was better and had no flaws! Ugh..

I had to upload this separately cause I love it so much! <3

This will be part of a bigger piece for *BlueBead's art trade, but since you cant see it all too well in her piece (cause the opacity is low :XD:) I wanted to upload it separately as its own piece X3 Silver ish so cute! I want to draw him more often now

Silver the hedgehog (c) Seeeegaaaa!

I really should make a tutorial on colouring soon, many people have asked about it e_e XD But quickly, its just by selecting parts individually e.g. one quill at a time, then using a very big soft brush to shade it with a black 10% opacity colour c: .... I should make the tutorial :XD:

Thanks very much ^-^ ~

so you just use a huge size of the soft brush of whatever color and use that?
didnt you have to do something else for that?
did you have to do tons of erasing?

sorry if i'm asking too many questions...
i'm new to Photoshop. so i'm just trying to find out how to get the more blended shading to work XD
SonARTic Oct 11, 2009  Professional Digital Artist
Just a huge size brush, with a dark colour :) No erasing at all needed XD Sometimes maybe if you get into a corner and the colour you've just used makes a horrible line then smudge may be needed, but thats it. Or the burn tool to make things darker quicker, for things like shadows :)

Its okay XD When I first started out I tried to use many tutorials on here, they really help :3 But its nice to experiment with your own unique style XD

i'm just amazed on how people make it so blended like this!
i tried more than 100 times! (so many that i lost count :XD:)

i'm still trying to figure out how to get the blended shading, the effects, etc. with photoshop to work.
i dont remember what day i got photoshop.. but it wasnt that long ago

I'll really really have to make a tutorial for you, I must! XD I'm never good at explaining things well without a picture of what i'm doing in front of me, so I will force myself to do that soon >w<
AokitianWolf Oct 12, 2009  Student General Artist
you dont have to if you dont want to.

Wha...?! Why force yourself?
dont worry. i'm not good at explaining things neither :XD:

No really, I would have done anyways X) I really do need to force myself though, into an addicting game at the moment when I really should be DRAWING! :XD:
